Be Wine was Divine

On Thursday (18^th March) we launched the first (Spring) of the Be Wine Festivals and what a night it was!

Guests began to arrive from 7:20 at The Square Club where they were greeted by me; I gave each person their wine tasting cards and a glass and simply set them on their wine tasting way!

The idea was simple; an evening of sampling wines from around the world whilst mingling with other single people in the city. It definitely worked! The live jazz music during the tasting was superb and helped toward creating a great ambience. Hosts were on hand to mingle and introduce, bar staff were frantically running fresh glasses out, jugs of water and orange juice (much needed!) and delicious foods such as goats cheese and red onion, fish balls and sweet bites.

The tasting came to an end at 10:00 when the group were asked to make their wobbly way to the downstairs bar, where 4 piece swing band Fraser Tilly were already playing the start of their fantastic set… they immediately engaged the crowd by handing out instruments and within minutes people were dancing, singing and shaking maracas!

It was easy to see that connections were being made around the room, people were dancing, chatting, laughing; the atmosphere was lively to say the least.

I am now confident the Summer Wine Festival will be even bigger and better!

Hi Kerry, I just wanted to say thanks for organising such a great night on Thursday. It was a hoot and there were lots of really interesting people there. It was a shame we had to leave early, because the band were fantastic and it seemed to be degenerating nicely!! I loved the place, the flowers, the wine, the little nibbles of food that came round (very good idea) and the band was good, as the music definitely got people hopping and bopping. Definitely the best one yet.
